CBWES - CB Wetlands & Environmental Services

CBWES Inc. offers a wide variety of coastal wetland and environmental consulting services to clients from both public and private sectors. We specialize in planning and implementing multi-objective projects to restore and enhance wetland systems through the integration of the best available science, with lessons learned from on-the-ground monitoring and project implementation.

Since 2005, CBWES Inc. has been the only company engaged in tidal wetland restoration and monitoring projects in Nova Scotia. We have assisted our clients in planning and implementation for most of the major tidal marsh restoration projects in Nova Scotia – such as the Cheverie Creek Salt Marsh and Tidal River Restoration, Walton River Salt Marsh Restoration, and the St. Croix High Salt Marsh and Floodplain Restoration Project.

Our Team provides multi-disciplinary expertise in areas of estuarine and coastal wetland assessment and restoration; ecological monitoring; project design, implementation and management; and environmental research and education. Our members include a coastal wetland ecologist, a coastal marine ecologist, a GIS and remote sensing specialist, a coastal geomorphologist and biogeographer, and a plant ecologist.

The Team is managed by Tony Bowron and Nancy Neatt, with technical review by Dr. Danika van Proosdij. Mr. Bowron, Mrs. Neatt and Dr. van Proosdij are particularly well-suited to this role based on a combined 37 years of experience working on coastal habitats in Atlantic Canada.
